Our Energy Projects

Heat pumps are mechanical devices that allow the transfer of energy (heat) from a space with low temperature to a space with higher temperature. Heat pumps operate in the same way that all cooling machines operate, and their operation is based on the same principles that apply in refrigerators, deep freezers, air conditioning units, etc.

Energy saving as well as cost efficiency, low greenhouse gas emissions, their many uses (heating, cooling, domestic hot water supply) are some of the advantages of their application.

Kapsalis Technical Company provides the study and approval of works for the installation of the devices.

Photovoltaic systems produce electricity from solar energy, offering an environmentally-friendly technology, without any maintenance requirements, a long lifespan, the possibility of installation in already existing constructions and flexibility in their applications.

Photovoltaic systems can contribute significantly to the said “Distributed Power Generation”, which consists the new model of development of modern energy systems for the production, transmission and distribution of electricity. The differentiation in energy production, which is provided by photovoltaic systems, in combination with the escape from dependence on oil, in a large degree, and the avoidance of further environmental pollution, can create conditions of economic growth in a new energy landscape that is currently taking place in developed countries.

Kapsalis Technical Company provides you reliable solutions, the preparation of dossiers for the licensing of photovoltaic systems on the roofs of houses and business premises, the supply of equipment from leading and guaranteed industrial firms and the installation of the systems.

From November 2012 to May 2013, Kapsalis Technical Company in cooperation with JP AVAX, ISOLAR and K SPARK constructed 90 Photovoltaic farms in the wider area of Aitoloakarnania and Corfu, as well as the security systems (cameras, alarm units, etc.) of 250 Photovoltaic farms in the same areas in very strict schedules due to the reduction of the price of photovoltaics, and with difficult weather conditions.

It is a document that is recognized by the Hellenic Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, which reflects the energy efficiency of the building. With the energy performance certificate the building is classified in an energy class (nine classes, from Α+ to Η).

The issuing of an energy performance certificate (EPC) is required in the case of every basic-use building of a total area of over 50 square meters, (permanent residence and holiday homes, offices, commercial use buildings, buildings for public meeting, education, temporary residence, health and social welfare, etc.).

Kapsalis Technical Company provides an energy efficiency study of the building after its survey, the presentation of the required energy interventions, pricing, the implementation of its energy upgrading and issuing of the energy performance certificate.

The Energy Efficiency Study consists an additional mandatory study and replaces the thermal insulation study for every building (new or already existing building under renovation). It is not necessary for the completeness check of the dossier, however the minimum requirements it sets must be taken into account from the beginning in the architectural design of the building.

The relevant dossier will be essentially examined only after the submission of the Building’s Energy Efficiency Study, which will be examined in its whole by the competent employees of the Urban Planning Services so that the building permit is issued.

The examination and approval of the Energy Efficiency Study has to do principally with the control of architectural and electromechanical details and is also signed by the competent employees for the control of architectural and electromechanical installations.

A set of interventions aiming at the reduction of energy needs of the building in terms of heating and cooling. The advantages that occur from the energy upgrading of buildings are the following:

  • Energy upgrading leads to lower operating costs of the building, particularly today when the fuel prices are constantly increasing
  • Energy upgrading contributes to the environmental protection
  • It leads to the improvement of the interior climate and life quality, and finally:
  • It increases the value of the property, as a building with high energy efficiency class (higher than B) is cheaper in its use than a building of a lower class and a higher price can be achieved when it is sold or rented.

Kapsalis Technical Company provides you external thermal insulation of walls, insulation of the roof, the replacement of door and window frames, the use of cold materials in housetops or flat roofs, heating upgrading.

Hybrid Photovoltaic (PV) systems consist a dynamic power system, which use more than one energy production methods in order to cover the required energy needs. They are a combination of a photovoltaic system (hybrid PV system) with a wind turbine or a diesel generator (diesel genset). The use of wind turbines in photovoltaic systems is also very important so that they can be used all year round and particularly in winter, when the wind turbine plays an important part in the reinforcement of the entire photovoltaic system.

Hybrid systems are mainly used for the continuous operation of important home or professional applications or emergency applications of electric or sensitive loads, in military units, airports, hospitals.

Kapsalis Technical Company, provides the study and approval of works of installation of these systems.

The goal is to determine the energy needs of the building (of buildings that have a building permit), as well as the necessary interventions that will help us maximize energy savings.

The eligible interventions regard:

  • The placement of thermal insulation in the building envelope including the housetop/roof and the pilotis space (underdeck parking area).
  • Replacement of door and window frames and placement of shading systems.
  • Upgrading of the heating system and of the hot water supply for domestic use.

For the implementation of the interventions there is no requirement of any permit or authorization, or approval of small-scale building works, with the exception of very special cases.

Wind turbines are essentially machines that produce electricity, using wind power, aiming at the integrity and high quality of ecological functions and as a means to meet energy needs.

The power and therefore the energy that is produced by a wind turbine, is a function of the cube (the third power) of the speed of the wind, the density of the wind and the technical characteristics of the complex.

Wind speed increases proportionally with height and therefore wind turbines are always placed at the top of high support towers.

A good quality small wind turbine can usually provide up to 30-35% of the available power of the wind.

Kapsalis Technical Company provides you reliable wind turbine installation studies, approvals of small-scale construction works, supplies equipment and undertakes the installation.
